Re: [microsound] 7" vinyl (semi-OT)

more about the hardcore 7 inches please? do you mean techno or
industrial or both? might be a venue i go down, if it's mixable into a
Dj set along with the rest. how many minutes per side?

when i said hardcore i actually meant hardcore punk, not techno or industrial. i always see 7" of that stuff released, sometimes a 33rpm compilation of 4-6 bands on one (!).

that should be played out by DJs but i'm afraid to risk the
money... why would they even bother listening to me in the first place
without marketing or a reputation or a label? it seems a waste for
literally hundreds of hours of music i've never release that i think,
someone, even just one person, might dig... it's hard to invite everyone
over to my place to listen - which is what's been doing. maybe the
best bet is just put up a basic website and let people download for
free? and then move to vinyl... without any label backing or financial
assistance... murphy's law'll make sure it's all nothing, knowing my
luck... any tips here on formats? i mean CD would be ideal, but i'd want
my stuff played out.

i'd say get at least clips of your stuff into mp3 format and put them on your website or someplace that is into reviewing or hosting mp3s. a few years ago but i forgot what it's called. you might want to talk to DJs too if you want their opinion on the music. If they start asking when your stuff is coming out on vinyl or CD then you'll know when and which format to invest in pressing up.
