FCP 4 is such a robust program. It is possible to cut with an iBook and I
think it is expandable to 1 gig of ram. I wouldn't recommend trying to
run it with less.

Frankly, although I'm sure there are varying opinions on this, the
linux/PC systems have not developed a strong competitor to FCP. Unless
you invest a huge amount for something in the AVID professional systems.
