I guess there might be a difference between 'electronic sound' and 'electronic music' , the latter requiring a listener while the former doesn't require a listener. Of course this brings to mind the age old proverb: " If a tree fell on the moderately priced ($6,195 + shipping) tannoy monitors and no-one was there to hear it , was the person who wasn't there

 a) a lousy gardener
 b) an incompetent audio engineer
 c) someone with an exciting social life. "


I think it is an axiom which is constantly being reevaluated, though and this is one reason there is such a huge market for electronic music.
