[microsound] Re: Lemur

From: john dred <redjohndredd03@xxxxxxxxx>

Yayyyyy
more electronic musicians who dont actually play an
instrument
yayyy yayyyy

i had a chance to demo the Lemur first hand, and nothing can be further from the truth... the Lemur is the first instrument i have seen (maybe apart from the Continuum Fingerboard) that truely turns all of this crazy software we use into an INSTRUMENT..

i mean, do you really think a 12-note octave of black and whites is the best way to control Max/MSP? with the coming of new software and sound technologies we need new ways of controlling and expressing them.. and the Lemur does just that... it's something that will take practice and skill to master.. it's NOT just a korg Kaoss pad..

it's a remarkable and expressive instrument... don't be so harsh to judge until you've tried it yourself.
