I thought the performative ending was rather well designed.

The language on the webpage explaining the keyboard bashing is rather
depleted, attempting to uphold and explain the event to a much more
mainstream audience, and initially put me off the action ..

... until I realised it was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, methinks.

For once I saw the video, the fire & the bat combined with the beats made
sense : why not ?

I've always wanted to stage a microsound performance that consisted of
nothing save for the smashing of the laptop.

And yah, right at the end, the keyboard suspends a flattened frequency
before dying in molten plastic & toxic fumes ..

Someone's got to do it ..  I think most negative reactions are just covert
jealousies. 

Pass me the next bat.
