[microsound] request for open media+artware

dearest microfolk,

at the open source / open ear exhibition [osoe.net] in chicago (more
info below), i will have set up a computer running linux (ubuntu or
demudi) to demo open source tech+media. this workstation will also
serve as a distribution channel, with burning software+instructions so
viewers can burn copies of popular media-related distributions and
other files.

included on the workstation will be some artware and open-source media
(ie creativecommons, oal, &c.) i'm sending this out in the hope that
some of you will have projects or work you'd like to include on the
computer - this can include executables, image files, video files,
audio files, texts, etc. the computer will not have an internet
connection.

if you have anything to contribute, please let me know! open source /
open ear runs from 7/28-8/11.

thanks!
jake

= ABOUT OPEN SOURCE / OPEN EAR {{ http://osoe.net }}
==================================
Open Source / Open Ear is a two-week exhibition at Mess Hall, in
Rogers Park (Chicago). The objective of this show is to bring into
focus diverse sound practices that resist conventional modes of
production, distribution, performance or perception.

Homemade instruments, atonal noise experiments, self organized and
improvisational models of collaboration and performance, technological
detournement and reappropriated consumer objects suggest a sustained
undercurrent of subcultural sounding activity, gathered here for
critical reflection, exchange and experimentation.

This exhibition will accommodate a gallery installation of submissions
and projects and a series of daytime workshops and evening
performances. This will be accompanied by a website, small publication
and compilation cd.
