[microsound] webcast/fm collaboration

hello microsound,

i am wondering if there is anyone who hosts an FM radio program that
would be interested in relaying a live webcast i am hosting saturday,
october 29 featuring performances from my home studio by jason kahn and
aki onda. the performances are scheduled to begin at 21:00 est (01:00
utc).

jason, aki and i are playing a series of shows in central/eastern
canada in late october. one of these will be a webcast from my
apartment. as much as i appreciate webcasting and listen to numerous
net stations, it's additionally exciting to me if it's combined with
the total accessibility of radio. so any pirates, community, or college
radio DJs out there who host programs on Saturday evenings who may be
interested in this sort of collaboration, i'd love to hear from you.

this endeavor is part of the activities programmed by send + receive: a
festival of sound v.8 (winnipeg).
www.sendandrecive.org/

we have combined fm/webcasts at the festival in the past and i find the
'chance' element of an FM audience intriguing. i know the web has
opened new avenues of collaboration and expression but i still think
the webcast audience is a select one. by combining it with FM, there is
a whole new level i find promising and exciting. the idea that late
night security guards scanning the dial can access this on purpose or
by chance is appealing and brings new life to the party. as a kid i
would often scan the dial late at night and would have been thrilled to
come across this sort of thing.

if anyone has any questions about the webcast or tour dates, please
feel free to get in touch.

thanks in advance.

best,
steve
