Re: [microsound]LEMUR? Experiences?

Anyone have experience with this new hardware controller?

How is the touch control for X,Y manipulations?

What the hell does this mean?...

Lemur is not a MIDI device, but behaves like one, via OSC.(Open
sound control)

I hear OSC is much more efficient then midi but does that refer to
efficient inregards to your processor? What about latencey that
you experience with Midi, is that non exhisistant with OSC?
Besides Reaktor and Ablive, what other applications use OSC?

Using some 3d parts externals, Max/MSP and Pure Data do.

Concerning efficiency, I think OSC can be more precise and more
flexible as well. But someone would have to confirm, since I never
really use it myself.( in fact, I must admit I haven't used MIDI that
much neither...)

But seriously, Lemur might be really amazing, $2000 is far too much
expensive for a controller IMHO.

Don't think it really helps... Just my 2 cents.

Julien.

What is the software suite like that comes packaged with Lemur?

Taking a shot in the dark as i know this hardware just hit the
market, and at a very deep price(just under 2000 US dollars),
hoping some one is verry wealthy on this list or works in the
industry and had a chance to get their grubby hands on it? Is this
hardware really worth getting before everyone and their mothers
developed cheaper alternatives to lemur using the same technology?

Thanks in advance!
