  Not strictly 5.1

    But I have been working with multi speaker setups for a while.

    Recently been using larger desks to provide submixing of multiple
    systems.

    Namely to create and manipulate stereo wide systems, surround
    systems, multi zone systems and access different effects into
    and across systems and into and across different zones.

    Panning reverbs, shifting time delays.

    Lots of live manipulated feedback through omni directional mics.

    Collecting performance (Dj,live,playback) input from several different
    locations, distributing and broadcasting across different systems
    from a central location.

    Treating systems as large organic objects, without a central experience
    point, but sonic objects that are non dimensional, reactive, interactive.

    Creating layers of sound, as you walk through areas of reinforcement
    into spill or secondary sound space, like behind large speaker stacks.

    Releasing the performance from a central position, into a moving
    undefined space of an imersive audio experience, where you can
    explore beyond the focus into sundry space.
