Re: [microsound] robert henke
I guess I view his beat-oriented work as a continuation of what he started while on Chain Reaction. For techno, his work is pretty unique. When I heard him perform in San Francisco a number of years ago, he was really good, very abstract. Like all performers, I'm sure he has his off days. His most recent work digs a bit into 4x4 territory, and gets a bit clubby, but I like that.

Hi
Just another opinion about Mr. Ableton Henke:
Despite Monolake=B4s main works are beat oriented ( I also listen beat
oriented stuff I really enjoyed with all of them, except the last
one)..I
think Robert is a great sound programmer-sculptor....
Works like Gobi Desert EP or Piercing Music (his first work, using
max-msp
circa 1992...) are still a pleasure for my ears, and more exciting for
me
than other boring (computer) music related from these years.
Best,
alex
