Re: [microsound] robert henke

you might find colin potter's work to be of interest
where he works with beat related projects ( of less interest for me )
his drone or "ambient" work is very concise, and solid on the level
with thomas k, imho.

it is common the occurrence when a "techno" beat oriented programmer
makes "ambient" music, while some of robert h. work is intriguing, it
doesn't hit the mark in depth, in repeated listens, it sounds as if
something is missing.

i agree mostly, but think the work of thomas köner is on another level

the soundscape work of robert. köners sound is far more radical and
worked
out, that's why i prefer it.

out of this reason i more enjoy the beat structured stuff by monolake,
that's where he's very good at me thinks.

Been spending some time listening to Robert Henke's ambient lps 'Signal to Noise' and 'Floating Point'. Great work imo. While I love his work with Monolake, I think I like his beatless soundscapes better. Anyone have any opinions on the matter? I also am heavily into Thomas Koner's work. I can rarely settle my mind into working like that.
