My solution is to use a Max patch which will convert the keystrokes to
MIDI on the machine that the hardware keypad is physically connected to
(via USB) and send it out via a standard MIDI interface on a seperate
channel than the generated Note information is transmitted on. This
will give me the control I need without having the data arrive as a
keystroke per se..
