I was friends with a bookstore owner(he has become very bitter due to the internet and urban development) back in the early 90's. It was through him that I met Jim Jones of Pere Ubu and others. Anyways, he pointed out to me as he was writing a review for a book that they request a review or a quote to help sell the book. So, you are talking about a book and we are dealing with music, you may think. Same thing. They are trying to sell it. I don't read the whole review, just the blurps. But never do I fall for the comparision between on artist and the other.
I question that I do have is; when the reviewer goes off on some daydream discription, does THAT convince you, or is it something else that got you to want to listen?
Thanks
Derek
