While I was in school, all my friends were getting into Pearl Jam and 
Placebo; I on the other hand was rocking out to Orbital and Photek (and 
a musical hermit as a result, but there you go).

It's only now that I can confidently play my laptop as a live instrument 
(I've got an outdoor gig with a singer-songwriter in the botanic gardens 
here on Saturday, should be a 1000+ crowd which is scary) that I'm 
starting to learn how to play the guitar.

Oh, I learnt to play piano at school but that kind of doesn't count.
