[microsound] kinda OT: flanger/templates

i just posted this to the NI forums, but maybe some of you here can help 
me out...

i'm working on an album of live improvised jazz fusion jams, similar to 
the atom heart and burt friedman project known as 'flanger.' i'm curious 
if anybody out there knows how this album was actually made and how one 
might approximate the kind of sonic processing that was done on these 
jams... it's always completely baffled me. i really have no idea how 
this was done.

it's one of my all time favourite albums... totally brilliant. the stuff 
i'm working on is without click track, free form, so i'm really looking 
for innovative ways to process the raw material in a similar style, 
whether it be individual tracks or the whole mix..... check it out if 
you haven't already... it's on ninja tune.
