[microsound] question: who is making the most interesting minimal techno right now?

i was wondering about the same thing for a while, & recently i've gotten
into kompakt, & they've been releasing some great CDs in the last year or
so (my turntable is dead, so i can't talk about the vinyl). i guess it's
more on the house side than techno but still. the _total 6_ 2CD
compilation is great, not completely serious (there's some pretty overblown
cheesy disco tracks on there, which i reckon not everyone on this list will
enjoy, though i do), but there's quite a few quality tracks for minimal
house enthusiasts. not as cerebral as the force inc stuff from 2000-2002,
which is fine with me.

also on kompakt, i've enjoyed the recent CDs by ferenc (_fraximal_, pretty
much great from start to finish, with nice touches of acid) & the orb
(_okie dokie it's the orb on kompakt_, a nice return to form, very
psychedelic & quite sexy in its own right). the michael mayer CD from last
year or so is all right, not great but enjoyable.

other than that i've been enjoying the latest isolée _western
store_. which is also more on the house/disco side but, ooh yeah, great
minimal-style vibes on there. his previous one is more hit-or-miss for me
but it's worth checking out. it's more pop though.

i'm not really expecting any new interesting force inc style techno simply
because it seems to me like all the good ideas have been beaten to death a
while ago. but i wouldn't be unhappy being proven wrong on this.

i'd love to hear something new from snd though. i've seen them live & it
was quite different from their previous CDs, need some more of that, yesss...
