i'd affirm this. when i moved to berkeley in 1985 i
came into contact with my first hackers and one of the
oft repeated idealisms of the computer world was that
it freed people from the limittations of their body
but this was seen on the level of vanity (like, the
acne teenager finds cyber love etc.) --it is of course
psychological grounds that such markets still work on
---how do murdochs suck our desire?

at least open source allows us to remake the world bu
our own means...
