depends what you mean by 'free market'.

the vast majority of the peer to peer scene is not a capitalist
market, as there is no currency exchange [music for money]. in most
contexts, 'free market' refers to unbridled capitalism. so i have to
disagree that the rise of peer to peer file sharing networks is the
'free market' at work.

i think it is something else that is rising.
