Yes you could use the blog for anything but the important thing at
least in regards to the success of myspace is that people expect a
certain type of content. How many people do you think know what PHP
means or is good for??
Also the type of customizability (new word) you talk about probably
still requires more technical knowledge than many users have... that
certainly appears to be the case with mysapce.
Also I think the fall of MP3.com afforded myspace a certain opening in
the "fluid market" for free for all mp3 distribution.
I don't think the market is all that fluid.. it's more like a viscous
blob that levitates towards money than quality. The internet seemingly
has recovered fromt he dot com bomb of 2000 and the madcash grab has
begun a new.
