Re: [microsound] I want myspace MTV
I admit directly, I did not read all previous posts above, just snippets.
But still I would like to tell my share.
I once got tricked into myspace because of a friend I have, who was at
that moment in New Sealand, and used that to blog. While there I
thought I could actually also make one for my music, just as means of
promotional stuff.
I saw other bands on it also, and actually it worked somehow. I got
more traffic on my website, got some messages from people who said
they found me on myspace and wanted to know if I had more music
available (which is the case, most free for download from my website).
So for me it has proven to be some sort of win thing.
I myself use it also for searching other musicians I might like and so
now and then i find something I really like and I try to get hold of a
cd or mp3 release or whatever is available.
Of course there is a lot of music on it that you might consider being
crap, or you just don't like in general. But there is something really
easy for that....just don't add the person/artist/band or whatsoever.
I can understand why people might not like it, because in general it
doesn't have to mean anything. All those so cald friends are of course
quite bullshit. Most click you once and will never return, but such is
modern day internet life.
About the part that people do sad things on myspace is something that
has to do with modern society. You do not only see it on myspace, but
also on other places. It's just something general and not something
that myspace has trademarked.
Well that's what i can say about it now, maybe more later... ;)
Greetings,
Sietse/Orphax....
