use apple's built-in.
go to terminal, type say whatever you want to say
you can specify which voice and also render to file.
type man say for more info.
if you have max, you can use the lspeak object or emulate the
terminal with shell.
unfortunately i haven't found a way to record that without a multi
i/o soudcard, soundflower and jack don't work with simple terminal
commands.
