I am quite pro-last.fm. I am an active user there myself. I get in
contact with people with the same interest in music and it's a nice
way to promote the music, much more than myspace. People on last.fm,
in opposite to myspace, are there really for the music, not for other
reasons.
It's an easy way of promoting your own music by putting up as much
music as possible and spreading the word around. With myspace you
really have to to groups and ad people to your "friends" to get them
to listen to the music and you get almost no returning users. On
last.fm your music gets in the radio plays and the right people get to
hear it by them self.
I feel that some people are negative towards last.fm since it has been
bought by CBS, but nothing has changed regarding rights about the
music and similar things. I don't see a problem in this.
Greetings,
Sietse
