it's all a very human-centric way of looking at things... i'm not
sure our nature allows us to grasp the infinite. which is why we
have such a hard time dealing with the universe.

Maybe things just are, without any need to begin. So maybe the Big
Bang is real enough, but nevertheless an event in a continuum,
rather than an absolute beginning.
