Re: [microsound] laptop ethics...

just thought i kind of second that, but then finally i don´t- seen farmer´s
manual over here in berlin a while ago... the music was great (didn´t really
expect sthg. different, though that kind of dsp terror looses impact already)
but the performance in terms of visual entertainment (besides a third guy
doing real-time video processing on a powerbook) was really poor - had to
leave for a beer at the bar after 20 minutes - could have rather listened to a
fm record at home - owell.

still i think there´s two things to remember:
1. why doing a rock concert-type-of-show with a powerbook at all?
2. why is there a difference between creating and performing when doing a live
show with a computer? livewise at least i don´t think so. i still enjoy
powerbook concerts as long as the music is fine with me. who cares about bands
doing bad music with a super show then anyway?
and also: i do still (hehe) - just seen a great band from lyon, france last
week called: punish yourself (just think of pönish yörsölf hehe) - five french
guys and girls with uv-light-body paintings and costumes doing a really
straight rock show by just accompanying a dat tape.

we gotta get rid of some live concert stereotypes i guess. already did. most
of these issues turn out to be a matter of being curious and willing to enjoy
in the end.

young sexy ladies i´ll get whereever - but the simple fact that they might
present a concert of whatever dumb type won´t convince me at all...ahh
whatever...

jayrope ? rope
