Input/Output

Regarding the input+output equation concerning electronic music...I came
across this great quote by Xenakis (the metaphorics indicate that it is
highly influenced by one of X.s great influences: old Greece ("hey! keep
Travolta out of this")):

"With the aid of electronic computers, the composer becomes a
sort of pilot: pressing buttons, introducing coordinates, and
supervising the controls of a cosmic vessel sailing in the space
of sound, across sonic constellations and galaxies that
could formerly be glimpsed only in a distant dream.?

I have no problems pushing buttons, especially not if what I´m actually
doing is sailing a great cosmic vessel. Beam me up, Iannis.
