....or so it is hoped by producers of such music! :) the fact that it is
so abstractive and personal suggests (to me, at least) that there really
is nothing to "fool"...if someone finds a work compelling and wants to
listen to it several times I think it can be characterized as successful
in it's own right. (as was pointed out earlier, which so far has been
the most satisfactory answer for me...)
on the other hand, i'm sure many subjective examples exist where
carefully crafted, thought out work gets tossed aside and labelled as
the very kind of "digicheap/easy", random music that won't fool
serious listeners...
