Re: MUTEK
hi list,
i must add to arden's post about MUTEK..
from an artist's point of view, i can honestly say it was one of the
highlights of my career. the people i met.. from event-goers, to
artists.. everyone so friendly and down-to-earth.., the
professionalism of the MUTEK staff and organizers.. and most
importantly, the music. 5 days of hanging out, eating, creative
brainstorming, music talk.. music appreciation....and shamelessly
brandishing 12k stickers... :)
my personal favorites being the raster night (excellent music,
excellent visuals, and a real cohesion among performances) and
vladislav delay.. who manages to make his music come alive in a live
setting. very organic, and quite sexy in a way. i also thought that
brinkmann's set was rock solid.. and a nice change of pace from 3
days of intense experimental tones. it was nice to let go. pricesless
seeing carsten nicolai screaming "yeaaahhhH!!" waving his arms in the
air whenever brinkmann raised the energy level a notch...
i had a great time there.. i was very hard to leave. the festival
surpassed all of my high expectations..
until next year,
taylor
