re: microvising
my $0.02: microvising's where it's at.
interfaces and instruments are tricky, but then it comes down to
building your instrument interface (in something like Max/MSP). i've
been doing improvised live-sampled electroacoustica for years using
STEIM's LiSa and a cs1x (midi kboard with knobs)... ugly and clunky but
works okay. on the computer side, there's fun to be had with
touch-senstitive tablets (wacom) & toys like the i-cube.
re electroacoustic microvisors: check out kaffe matthews (uk violinist /
live sampler), also oren ambarchi ... guitarist impro noisemerchant
turned live processing engine. he has a new disc coming out with
fennesz, pita & keith rowe, recorded out here in australia in february.
<plug> and an mp3 with dj martin ng coming up in autonomousAudio </plug>.
