Oohhh, very good! That's exactly what I'm getting at. See, I'm not sure
that one can truly improvise with nothing more than a mouse or touchpad and
standard gui sliders, etc...at their disposal. Maybe alternative
interfaces would make laptop based improvisation more interesting and
expressive such as some of the full body controllers that surface at places
like the MIT Media Lab? "Visceral" is a great word. I think it certainly
is possible to bring the body back into the performance of and potentially
into the improvisation of computer based music.
