anybody remember the "New Beat" movement from benelux in the late 80's?  the
sound came from djs taking old Moroder-styled disco 45s and playing them at
33 1/3, then pitching up to +8.  made for some weird bass and clubfooted
rhythms, and i've always thought that's what set up that area for the whole
hoover/hardcore thing.

obmicrosound:  uhh. . .sometimes when i rip these old New Beat comps the CD
skips.
