Hi Kate,
So you went to that?  I had wanted to go, but was just too exhausted to make
it out that night...  I did manage to see him perform at Sonar this summer,
and it was exquisite, just as you say.  

There's an article on Lopez in The Wire - I forget which issue, a recent one
- you might check that out as well (I'm actually trying to talk to him for
Surface magazine, but have lost contact with him now that he's on tour), I
believe he talks about his own ideas of pure sound & sound immersion
(something like "noise nirvana").  

Nice to find a fellow noisenik here in SF! :)  Actually, Tomas (from XLR8R)
and I are going to be doing a noise/drone DJ event at the Betalounge in
November - 4 turntables, maybe a couple of CD players - playing all
drone/noise and clicks'n'pops kinda stuff, just to see what kind of
immersive sound we can build up... I'll post to Microsound when we firm up
the date.
