patches: keeping the can of worms open!

i accidentally sent that last message too quick & wanted to add this:

so what if all a composer does is indeed play a patch that "borderline
plays itself"?  then they'll be proven a rather bad composer using very
good tools as soon as someone else does the same exact thing with the
same exact ease.

so it sort of evens itself out.
