I made no declarations of horribleness about fetishization; I simply found 
it useful to use a term I find culturally but not ethically charged within 
the context of digital music.  But "fetishizing an art form" in the way 
said above is not really fetishization; the fetish is an object associated 
with a higher - often ritual or erotic - purpose, not the purpose itself or 
the resulting work.  But I suppose I would agree that all too often the 
reorientation of one's consciousness from the desired (aesthetic, sacred, 
erotic) object toward the fetish object offers one the amusing but not 
entirely satisfying specatacle of a cat chasing its own tail in the absence 
of birds or rodents.  On the records I buy, I hope the cat at least tries 
to chase something not attached to itself.
