nice...! where were you located? i recorded them flying around from the
roof of our warehouse, circa 11th/howard in SoMa, years ago. there were
amazing flange effects produced by the big pink noise of the big pink boys,
reflected through a maze of tall buildings and hills - then suddenly with
no warning i would leap for the attenuators as one of the jets flashed by,
low. something like a 150 dB dynamic range, it soaked the mics every time.

i was using the core sound binaurals, old school classics...

brought the sounds into KPFA a few days later to play a live set on carl
stone's "ears wide open" (recommended show). they make a prominent
appearance on the whacked fly like an eagle 12" that i put out (ca. 11/97).
looks like there will be a fly-by in spool 2 as well...

i opened the KPFA set with the sound of distant, swirling jets, cut by the
inimitable sine tones of ryoji ikeda's +/-. a complimentary blend...
