i insist. "verfehlung" in this case is a noun derived from the verb 
"verfehlen", which means to miss *something*, not "to be missing". 
"daseinsverfehlung" means the fact that the meaning of the existence 
is missed. in other words, the fact that the existence is misguided. 
in other words, misguidedness of existence.
"missed existence" almost does it, as long as it presupposes the 
existence - but then it still has the existence as the "head" of the 
expression, and not the fact that it's missing, as in the german 
expression.
i don't see any other way to translate this, except possibly in 
special contexts.
