Well, obviously there's a place for a Tiln gallery and there's a place
for a Falsch. There is something to be said for a Tiln gallery that
exists, low on ego, low on personal aesthetic, and low on commercialism,
to serve as a public service for artists to get heard. A great service!
One thing I've experienced with Falsch is a lack of communication. I got
the go-ahead to submit an mp3 release of a project I'm involved with, and
then heard nothing, after spending most of a day uploading to their ftp
server. I sent follow-up e-mails, months later, to find out whether or
not they were going to use the release and recieved only word that they
recieved it. If a label has time or an inclination to accept a
submission, then they should have time or an inclination to take a listen
and give some kind of answer. Especially when they seem to make time to
chat on list groups like this one!
