Don't know but you'll find out though! Why is this a concern?
You'll be able to make digi copies of your CDs, but not
a digi copy of a digi CD copy (CD->CD->MD). If it's a
pro-sumer machine it will probably just ignore the
SCMS flag in and out.

None....you'll still be able to record great quality audio.
I've made hundreds of recordings with a Sony MD
with sony V4 ATRAC. My mantra is it's better
to have recorded something than nothing no matter
how it sounds. Use the tools that you have access too.
If your holding out buying this because "it's not good enough"
compression for you then don't buy it. Don't buy MD.
Buy a DAT machine or a 24bit/96kHz Nagra or HD
recorder or whatever else the latest marketing rage is.
