Some of you might be interested in jMax, which is available through
IRCAM. It has more than a little Pd in its genes, and has a thriving
mailing list community going for itself, too. Take a look at

http://www.ircam.fr/listes/archives/jmax/maillist.html

for a window on the work in progress there.

The perspicacious reader who takes a look at the recent list contents
( say, http://www.ircam.fr/listes/archives/jmax/msg02523.html )
of said list will notice that the group of persons whose irritainment bears
the name Netochka Nezvanova has also been ejected from *that* list,
too; It would appear that les IRCAMistas don't like "her" much,
either.

At one point, I commonly directed persons with questions about moving
Max/MSP patches to Pd to this URL, which contained a listing of the
current status of Max/MSP objects being "ported" to Pd.

http://pd-lib.sourceforge.net/status.html

There are two reasons this list is only partially reliable. First, it has not
been updated in some time. Secondly, Max4/MSP 2 has added something
in the neighborhood of 90-100 new objects. I don't think that either many
or any of those objects at all are ports of Pd objects.

If you *do* port a patch using standard Max/MSP objects which are
already available, I do remember that one or two objects may accept
messages at different object inputs or in the reverse left-to-right order
than Max users may expect. Let the error messages be your guide.

I hope this is of some help.
