Well, the company's only specific description of the technology (near the end of the article) seems to fit the spirit but not the letter of the "lossless" claim.  Are they saying they generate patterns that are less numerically complex than those in the original data, yet will produce what's perceived as the 'same' data when the file is uncompressed?  Hmmmm indeed...!
