open works, was anti-retinal
regarding allowing the listener to participate in the production of meaning...
i finished an excellent book on the subject a few months ago, and would like to
highly recommend anyone interested in this subject to read Umberto Eco's The
Open Work. He breaks this subject down with amazing clarity. He's an extremely
intelligent man, and lucid to boot. For me, readability of this volume when
compared to A Thousand Plateaus is like tom clancy versus james joyce, but
without sparing any content or insight. btw, his novels are also well worth
reading. foucault's pendulum was great.
