Re: [microsound] internal organ recording

i once used a pair of headphones plugged into a mic jack to record a pet
mouse's heartbeat. i held the mouse in my hand and he (amazingly) held
still
and let me hold the headphones up to his body. it was an amazing sound!
his
heart sounded like a little motor! i used a similar method to record a
dog's
heartbeat and digestive tract. if you want to get digestive sounds, I'm
afraid you'll either have to starve the animal/person beforehand or give
them an insanely big meal and wait till it begins to be digested.

since headphones are speakers, and speakers are just microphones in
reverse,
you can just plug a pair of headphones into a mic jack and record away,
although the quality is not always the best. incidentally, i've also
used a
mic as a speaker. it's somewhat disconcerting to hear voices coming out
of a
microphone!

i'm not necessarily recommending this as a method for your recordings
(although it might be worth a try), just passing on info that might be
of
interest.
