My apologies if I sounded flippant. It was a poorly worded question. There
is something about your position that doesn't quite fit for me, but I'm not
sure I can put my finger on it.
There seems to me a little bit of a fracture between the idea of a
"community" defined as a "group of people who listen to microsound" and the
idea of "awareness from the outside". If I am newly aware of microsound and
I listen to microsound at what point do I become a member of the community?
Moreover does the assumption of a community constitute an elitist's
standpoint in and of itself?
I don't mean to offend. I tend to have to spew things out and then pick
through the pieces for some sense of coherence.
I find the role of money in enhancing accessibility a double-edged sword.
More people may be aware of it, but does that necessarily translate into the
experimentation/innovation I think you are suggesting would naturally occur?
Like I said, I tend to spew. I need to relax.
