No, he seemed to be using "some boxes".  The effect was that, not
having that laptop glow in front of him, he was in darkness while
Ikeda and Nicolai were visible.  BTW, the ICA's promotional blurb for
the gig told us that Mika Vainio uses custom gear in "her" work!  ;)
