I've been following through most of this thread.
A couple of months ago my computer stopped working . Perhaps predictably I
tried a piece without a pc , tape recorder etc. and it actually worked.
-gave me a really different perspective on how music actually 'sounds' ,
how it reaches the audience and so forth . Also some experiences with being
really in tune with the 'natural world' plants and humans ( no animals yet).
I've been trying to write about such topics , or at least write around
such topics .
On sept. 13th supervised a group of people and pulled out non-native
vegetation from a wild area here in seattle . It was idyllic ( perhaps the
original sense of the word). I mention this since at that time I had vivid
visions of how different styles , methods of sound generation , individuals
can exist in the same space without compromises.
If any of you have writings on the topic I could perhaps add them to a
page or link to them . I think it's a worthwhile conversation.
