Create @ iEAR Studios
Seeking Proposals from Artists to Develop Innovative New Sound Work at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Troy, NY: New York State composers, musicians, sound and multimedia
artists are invited to submit project proposals to produce innovative
new sound work at iEAR Studios located at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute in Troy, New York. Resident artists receive up to 80 hours of
iEAR Studio time, a technical assistant, a public presentation of the
work (as part of the iEAR presents! 2003-2004 public performance
series), and a stipend. Applications and guidelines can be found online

16, 2002.

The Create @ iEAR Studios residency is designed to assist individual
working artists by providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and
equipment. Applicants need not have experience with the technology that
they will be using during the residency. Proposals will be evaluated on
their imaginative and creative uses of the available technology and the
potential impact on the artist's work and career.

Create @ iEAR resident artists have included Leroy Jenkins and Mary
Griffin, Toni Dove, Jin Hi Kim, Andrew Neumann, Nicole Peyrafitte,
Barton & Priscilla McLean, Martin Janicek, Chris Mann, and Andrea Polli.

ABOUT iEAR Studios
iEAR Studios is a state-of-the-art facility that supports the unique
programs offered by the Arts Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute.  These programs include iEAR presents!, Create @ iEAR and the
Institute's academic degree programs. Located in Troy, NY the facilities
of the iEAR Studios support classes and creative work in the electronic
arts.

The Arts Department of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute sponsors Create @ iEAR. It is also made
possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on
