The word "labor" keeps popping up and I don't know if either of you are 
implying a political dimension to this discussion but that word certainly 
pushes those buttons for me.  I just want to point out that as someone who's 
only real jobs have been sitting behind a computer, I connect the computer 
far more closely to the idea of "labor" than any physical activities.  The 
frustration, drudgery, immobility, etc. of computer work is the contemporary 
"sweat."  But I may be totally misunderstading the use of the term "labor 
theory."  Read the below paragraph and replace "musician" with "employee", 
"audience" with "manager."  PS I'm writing this message from work.
