Re: [microsound] CD vs. CDRs
I'm a designer by trade so I can appreciate the packaging, branding, mast=
ering
etc.. of the most talentless major-label release for what it is... and wh=
en
an artist can merge many media together successfully its a great experien=
ce.
Nonetheless, and at the risk of sounding quaint, its all about the music
in the end. I turn every CD into a CD-R anyway (for listening to on my po=
rtable)
with nothing more than some permanent marker scribbling on it.. what seri=
ous
listener gives a rat's ass about anything in this regard but what sounds
are hitting their ears? For that matter, does a list that caters to the
appreciation of even the most minute click or hum have anything but an ob=
session
with sound itself in all sorts of contexts? This discussion belongs in HI=
TS
magazine! jv
