And Skolimowski's mystical horrorfilm The Shout, from 1978- one of the main 
characters is an electroacoustic composer (although the music is by 
Banks+Rutherford from Genesis). It does for sound what Nakata's Ring does 
for video.

The whole cast was under hypnosis for the shooting of Heart of Glass! 
Herzog's doc on ski-flying (The Ecstasy of the Woodcarver Steiner) is the 
most hypnotic documentary I've ever seen, largely because of the music (by 
Popol Vuh- they also did Aguirre and Heart of Glass).
