RE: [microsound] can we take a breather?
Nicely put. Although this thought pattern of yours at the end is as
Christian (at least Orthodox) as it is Buddhist.

Subject: [microsound] can we take a breather?
I've following these pilitical argument threads for a while and I was
wondering if anyone would mind relaxing for a minute, taking a
metaphorical deep breath and examining their motivations.
Though I've seen some interesting arguments, half of the posts have been
ego-smearing and way to detail oriented.
What is truly effecting us about this war (so far no blood shed)? Or
more
importantly what can we really do to affect the situation.
I don't think anyone has said they actually want thousands of people
killed so most of us must be in general agreement about that.
What's the point?
Agressive behaviour occurs in many forms and at many different decibel
levels. What we are observing in the US-Iraq nonsense is a macrocosm of
daily conflict. This conflict is based on greed and ego validation, two
things which permeate most of western society. You cannot stop others
from seeking more wealth and power or simply more image, but you can act
in a peaceful manner. The microcosm makes the macrocosm. This view is
contrary to history which shows individuals affecting a majority through
force. Call me a fuckung buddist but what happens when people decide to
be peaceful and put their focus on themselves and their daily
interactions
rather than argue about what the big dogs are doing to hurt each other?
