You are right.  The true(ha) wisdom of all religions does not belong to
religion.

Let's see if I can bring us back to microsound...

I was speaking of how the ability to interact peacefully or at least
compassionately on a daily basis is the only way to create a peaceful
world.  That is the difference between painting with the big brush and
painting with a monochromatic square of 10 pixels.  It is also the
difference between macrosound and microsound.

If music makes a huge gesture then it will capture the attention of more
people.  What it loses is it's sublety.  If music is composed of small
gestures it will capture the attention of those who are listening
carefully.  It is much more likey that music will have a profound effect
on someone who is listening carefully.  It may not reach as many ears, but
the ones it does reach will have a rich experience that will trigger their
imaginations.

The analogy can be extended to almost anything but I'll keep it to music
for the sake of this post.
